Wetland Welcome......
Pranav and his parents appeared at the door of his teacher’s classroom one day after school. “We found this turtle in the road, and we want to know if it is OK to put him in Cattail Corner so he will be safe,” he asked. Assured that this was an appropriate habitat for the foundling, the family bounded out to the wetland to introduce him to his new home.
Above all, we aim to instill in our very young students an awareness of and appreciation for the wetland ecosystem, particularly as it is represented by our small Cattail Corner. We want our students to become aware of the diversity of life found in wetland habitats and to develop a respect for and sensitivity to the preservation of those animals and plants. We hope this awareness, developed early, will create citizens who are committed to the preservation and conservation of the environment.
